About the Motorhomes

Can you take any Motorhome off road?

Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads.

Are the Motorhomes new?

The luxury motorhomes are generally under 2.5 years old, economy vehicles can range from 3 to 5 years, whilst the budget vehicles are 5+ years. The specific age of the vehicle can be viewed via the quoting process.All of the motorhomes undergo scheduled maintenance each time they are returned.

How do I choose the right campervan for me?

Campervans or Motorhomes are categorised in berths or in simple terms how many people they can sleep comfortably. All of the motorhomes details and features can be viewed on our website during the quoting process.

Do any of the campervans have a TV and DVD player?

Many of the motorhomes have a TV/DVD player. You are able to view full vehicle details during the quoting process.

How many people fit in a Motorhome?

The largest size Motorhome is a 6 berth. The berth size of a vehicle is equal to the number of seatbelts provided. There cannot be more passengers (including adults/children/infants) than there are seatbelts.

Campervans must be collected from and returned to the depot location/s, delivery of the rental to another address is not available.

What do I need to do before I return my rental to the depot?

The vehicles need to be returned to the depot with a full tank of fuel. The interior must be clean and tidy, and waste water tank and toilet cassette will need to be empty. The vehicle exterior does not require cleaning unless it’s covered with excessive dirt or mud. Some rentals require the Gas bottle to be refilled – check your confirmation voucher to see if it is included.

About Insurance

Do the motorhomes come with comprehensive Insurance?

Yes. They have comprehensive insurance as a standard inclusion in the daily rate, however in the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle you will be liable to pay the Liability/Excess Fee which can be up to $7,500. You can view full details in the terms and conditions page or insurance page.

Can I reduce my Liability

Yes. You can definitely reduce your liability (or excess). There are a few choices on our Insurance page and if you choose the Stress Free Package it reduces the applicable bond and excess.

How do I obtain a quote?

You can obtain a quote by clicking here and follow the few simple steps. Once you fill out the details you will be emailed a more detailed quote including the depot address, liability & bond amounts and extras available for hire.

How do I convert my quote to a booking?

You can request a reservation via your quote by either clicking the link located on your quote called "Book Now" or by giving our team a call on 0800 003 022 (+61 7 3442 2900).

How can I pre-register my details on an upcoming booking to save time on arrival?

You can CLICK HERE and then select the relevant company's link to pre-register your details.

  • To advise information required on arrival,saving you time!
  • To advise your expected arrival / departure times

Are there free airport transfers in New Zealand?

Most branches offer a free shuttle service from the airport (and some from local hotels), for more details see our terms and conditions page.

Can I park my car at the depot?

There is no car parking facility at any of the depots, you will need to organise this independently..

Can I travel One Way?

Yes one-way rentals are permitted but a minimum number of days apply. Each company has different minimum day requirements, and any surcharges will show on your quote if applicable.

Can Multiple Bookings be combined for a Lower Rates?

Yes - If you have multiple bookings with the same company (even if it is relating to New Zealand, Australia or US) these can be combined to give you a long term hire discount on both rentals. To do this you will have to email us as the system will not know about your other bookings. Some terms & conditions apply to multiple hires.

Can I make Secure Internet Payments? What are my other payment options.

Yes, when requesting a reservation or a making a payment, you can safely enter your credit card as this is a secure site.

Are any of the Motorhomes suitable for wheelchair access?

No, unfortunately there are no vehicles that are suitable for wheelchair access. The vehicles are not wide enough inside for movement.

What type of drivers licence do I need?

A current and full motor vehicle drivers licence is required for all drivers and must be presented upon vehicle collection. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English it must be accompanied by a current international driving permit issued in the same country as the drivers licence was issued. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.

Is there an age requirement for rental?

For most rentals, drivers are required to be aged 21 and over, however, some budget models permit 18+ fully licenced drivers (provisional licence not permitted).You can find this information for each campervan in the vehicle specifications links below, or by contacting our reservation team.

How can I locate campground information?

The Discovery Roadtrip app displays your current GPS location and points you to the nearest free camping areas, holiday parks, petrol stations, dump stations, public toilets and everything you need when you’re on the road. It also helps you stay safe by sending you real-time road and safety alerts. Oh, and it helps you save money, too - watch out for location-based Deals!

Is towing permitted with a Campervan rental?

No, none of our suppliers allow towing.
